Course Description: In this course, we will use the minority stress model to guide discussions regarding the impact of non-inclusive healthcare settings for transgender and gender diverse individuals. Additionally, the course will identify specific action steps to employ in practice on a clinical and organizational level.
Presented by: Julia López, Ph.D., MPH, LCSW
Julia López is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Social Work as well as a public health researcher in the field of sexual health using public health and social work theories and frameworks. She has previous clinical experience in a community mental health center. Additional areas of focus for research and presentation include health and mental health with sexual and gender minorities, racial disparities, HIV care, and women’s health.
